So I have seen these cool wreaths around the blogosphere and I wanted to attempt one myself.
Last year after Christmas, I went to Roberts Arts and Crafts and picked up some little glitter styrofoam balls. The remind me of little disco balls so I'm calling this one, my "Disco Ball Wreath"
First, I called my super awesome and crafty aunt who happens to have spent many years working for Michaels Arts and Crafts, and asked her what would be the best way to spray paint a wreath. I had a feeling that if I sprayed a regular old styrofoam wreath it would melt. She said I was right so the best bet was to purchase one of those thicker, more dense, green floral wreaths.
So I headed to the store and picked one up.
Next... my super rad husband, Mister Studly, spray painted it for me a burgundy color.
Then I got all my supplies ready.
It was so simple. I just needed the wreath, disco balls, a glue gun and lots and lots of glue sticks.
After I had all my supplies together, I got to work gluing the little disco balls onto the wreath, One by One by One.....
Until it was all covered.
Well... mostly covered.
I ran out of disco balls towards the end. So this will obviously be the back.....
Then I let it sit for about 5 minutes to make sure the hot glue was all dry and set. Only one ball fell off, so I quickly grabbed it and glued it on again.
Then I tied a gold ribbon around it and hung it on my wreath stand.
The whole thing from start to finish took about 20 minutes.
That's my kinda craft!!!
Quick and Easy!
And here is the finished product!!
I put it in my front entryway.
I'm loving it!
